Welcome!

Well, I've been in the concert lighting industry for just over 15 years now.  I've always wanted a resource that would give me information about all of the lighting fixtures that exist.  I've decided to try and create that resource.  I want to Compare Lights.  I want to give information such as cost, brightness, colors, applications, etc. about theatrical lighting fixtures.  I always had (and have) trouble figuring out which fixture is right for a particular application and be cost effective.  Every tour I have ever been on has always been concerned about the bottom dollar which in turn always dictated the budget of the lighting rig for the tour.   Searching for the right fixture for the right price is not an easy task.

So, I've decided to try it as a bog site first and we'll see how it goes.   I want anyone and everyone in the lighting industry to tell us what you are using and why.  Please post comments, questions,  and ideas that you may have.  The more information we can gather into one source, the better we can determine the best fixture for the right application.  Eventually I want to have a website that will compile all of this information.  For now, blogging is what we'll do.

This is certainly a continual work in progress and will continue to evolve as we go!

To start out:  Let's look at the a video of the new Martin Mac 101 posted by Brad Haynes.
